About Me

Tyler Benware has held operations positions at major American orchestras, including at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and the GRAMMY® Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO). As Director of Operations for the ASO, he oversaw the ensemble's performance schedule, recording activities, and Concerts in the Park series. He also headed the organization's oldest and largest training program, the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. In July 2018, he was just one of thirty-four individuals selected to participate in the League of American Orchestras’ Essentials of Orchestra Management program in Los Angeles.

Tyler was also Operations Manager for YOSA (Youth Orchestras of San Antonio) from 2015-2017. At YOSA, he supervised all production details for nine ensembles for concerts and special events at venues around the city, including the new Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. He has also held positions at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Ambassador Theatre Group.

Originally from Indiana, he earned his bachelor's degree from DePauw University with concentrations in both music and communication. While in school, he was an oboist in the band and orchestra and was active in the university’s theatre department. Also a composer of musical theatre, his first full-length production was workshopped and staged at Kerr Theatre in the Judson & Joyce Green Center for the Performing Arts in the spring of 2015.
